First, I have to apologize. I meant for the series to be fiction. But the things I wrote keep coming true! Why? I’m not psychic, but I am a scientist. I wrote this on the edge of what’s happening. I wrote about strange new dogs roaming the streets in violent packs. Enter Coywolves. I wrote about tornadoes hitting a small community in Alabama that had remained a low tornado area until now. Readers told me they were reading the new release, in that area of Alabama, from their basements as a strange cluster of tornadoes hit their usually safe area. Ooops.
Sharks in the floodwaters? Just look to Florida. Mosquitoes with new diseases coming over on shipping containers from India… Yeah, I hit that too! Whooops.
But if you’re ready to dive in and brave an apocalypse the way it really is likely to move, join us. It’s not likely to be a clear one-shot disaster that does us in, but more a “frog in boiling water” case, where the frog doesn’t try to escape the water until it’s too late. (It has been shown that frogs are smarter than that. They will get out of the water! And so does the Mazur family.)
